Newtonhill Neat

The first meeting of Newtonhill Neat was held on Thursday 14th March in the Skateraw Hall and was very well attended.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in the new NVA civic pride sub-group in the village. After much chatting, we decided to go with the name suggested by Eileen Murray, previous chairperson of the NVA who recently retired and moved south to be near her family. Her suggestion was NEAT – Newtonhill Environment Action Team - and, to avoid confusion with an existing NEAT, we thought we'd go with Newtonhill Neat!

We received grant funding from the Local Community Planning Group and this has allowed us to purchase all our new equipment - including some hi-viz tabards complete with logo! We are always grateful for any unwanted garden items, plants or anything you feel may be of use to the NEAT group and we are planning some NEAT fundraising events in the next few months which we are looking forward to.

So far we have had a few suggestions of projects and are looking to now plan the timetable for the year ahead. There’s still time to join the group – there is no requirement to attend every meeting or event and we’re a fun, friendly bunch – come along and help us make Newtonhill NEAT!
