Newtonhill Bowling Club is active throughout the summer months. They also have some functions running during the winter months.
The Bowling Club has a thriving afternoon section where members meet for a friendly game. Once a week these members compete in our clubs afternoon league.
Newtonhill compete in a the Kincardine District Bowling league. The team is made up of both male and female bowlers. Our men compete in an Aberdeen & Kincardine League. The Newtonhill ladies are members of the Scott pairs league and the Air BP triples league. The Air BP league has members as far apart as Laurenckirk, Banchory & Westhills. The Ladies have been champions of this league on two of the three years that this league has existed.
There are numerous in-house competitions & friendly matches to keep us occupied throughout the season.
Bingo
We run a monthly Bingo night on the first Saturday of each Month. It starts at 7.30 and finishes about 9.30. there is a 50p entry fee that covers the tea, sausage rolls and biscuits, these are provided during the interval. There is usually a small raffle at the end of the evening.
Please come along. You will be made very welcome. You do not have to be a member to visit the club or play bingo.
Opening times
The club opening times during the summer months, is from 2pm till 4pm and 7pm till 8:30pm when matches are being played.
Tuesday Hat night
This is when members gather and pick a number from the bag. The number indicates what rink and who you play with. it is a nice social night where the banter flows free. All non members are welcome. There is a small fee of about 50p to participate.
