Forum Rules

This is not an exhaustive list, but there have been a few occurrences already where I have had to either modify or delete posts as people haven't followed a few points of common courtesy:

1) Comments of a personal nature are not acceptable, whether directed at someone who uses these forums or not. Such comments will be removed as soon as they are seen by a moderator, or if there is nothing else of worth in the post, the whole thing will be deleted. We should all be able to conduct discussions without resorting to name calling or worse.

2) There is no need to shout, and posts which are written or titled in all capitals will either be edited (if the moderator can be bothered to retype them) or else just deleted. The odd capital word for emphasis is not a problem.

3) By posting a comment, I confirm that I have read and agree to the terms of use. http://www.newtonhill.org.uk/node/694 .Comments are not moderated but we will react if anything that breaks the rules comes to our attention and we may delete inappropriate postings. Please treat other people with respect. You must not post anything that is abusive, indecent, unlawful or defamatory. Remember, you are personally liable for what you post on this site. If you wish to complain about a comment, contact the webmaster using the link below.

4) Membership of the forum is generally granted to people who have a UK ISP and use a username which is recognisable, if you have requested a Username and have not heard back in a week or so then a polite email to the webmaster team will usually be helped. Please bear in mind the webteam are unpaid volunteers.

Hopefully nobody will give me cause to extend this list.
