I'm just completing the booking with the BC so that AAS will have an observing session at the back of the Bettridge Centre on Tuesday 25th Sept (booking the Lounge 9-10pm). This will mean that a number of AAS members will be in Newtonhill, so if you are interested in finding out what we do and are interested in taking up astronomy as a hobby (...or life consuming passion!) then this is an excellent opportunity to come along and speak to us.
You don't even need a telescope!

Good session last night
Hello
The AAS had a good session last night - with some new faces coming along to see what we get up to.
We setup a number of telescopes and our enormous pair of astronomical binoculars in the car park and let everyone have a good close look at the moon, a few clusters of stars (I always think they look like jewel boxes) and our nearest galactic neighbour - Andromeda.

Little astronomers...
Good link Noo Noo, which reminds me...
AAS is not a Society for kids, so although an interested adult/guardian is welcome to bring an <18yrs old person with them - they are solely responsible for that young person.
