Aberdeen Astronomical Society - 9pm Tue 23rd October - Bettridge Centre

Hello

The Astronomical Society is meeting round the back of the Bettridge Centre on Tuesday 23rd October, the BC is closed for the tattie holidays, but we only need the car park and the field at the back!

This will mean that a number of AAS members will be in Newtonhill, so if you are interested in finding out what we do and are interested in taking up astronomy as a hobby (...or life consuming passion!) then this is an excellent opportunity to come along and speak to us.

You don't even need a telescope!

Good evening's observing

6 people came along for another good evening's observing at the back of the Bettridge Centre.

Highlights included the pretty double star Albeiro (head of Cygnus the swan), the ring nebula (M57), the double star clusters of Perseus, and of course the 3/4 moon which was showing nicely.

We had the club's big binoculars (25x100) on a special mount with a nice comfy lounger, and a number of other scopes to boot.
