1st Newtonhill Guides is closing!!
It is with regret that I am posting this but as of this week 1st Newtonhill Guides will be closing.
At present we only have 5 Girls in the Unit and despite a really big effort from them and from their leaders we have been unsuccessful in attracting any new members.
The girls that we currently have are going to join 2nd Portlethen Guides and if in the future we do get anyone else wanting to join, they too would be offered a place in Portlethen.
I will still be around and Guiding in the area and continue to be the contact for anyone wanting any information on Rainbows, Brownies or Guides.
I just want to say thank you to the webmaster and to the various people who have helped out over the time I have run the unit. hopefully it wont be too long until we have enough girls to reopen.

Sorry to hear of the closure. If the unit wants to take the opportunity to fund raise, raise awareness etc at the SKateraw Fair do get in touch.

So sad!
That's really sad to hear Shona - I was in the 1st Newtonhill Guides when there were about 40 members and they had to open 2nd Newtonhill. Unfortunately those days have changed. Fingers crossed that there is a renewed interest in the future and it can re-open again.
