Where is everyone going for the holidays?

A holiday location thread might be interesting, where are you off to?

Spanish pronunciation

Eileen, Nerja is pronounced Nerha. Re pronunciation of Mercia, according to the teacher at the Spanish class I went to earlier this year, the lisping thing is almost seen as optional in Spain, with some people considering it old fashioned, so apparently it's not necessary!

Huntly Castle

Just back from a weekend in campervan at Huntly Castle, great weekend. Such variety in our travels, with the Lakes, Cornwall and Dubai yet to come this year............... Eilz

Spain

We had a week in Los Alcazares in May, very Spanish, very nice. Now how does one pronounce Nerja? The Brit airline staff amused me saying Mercia without a hint of Spanish, not one attempted the more appropriate "merthia". Ola! Eilz

Hols

Like this :-). I'm having a week on my own taking part in an archaeological dig at High Pasture Cave on Skye. Then the family will be heading to Orkney for a major archaeo-fest :-).

Nerja

My parents were in Nerja a couple of years ago and loved it - not overly touristy, and lots of Spaniards holidaying there.

Holidays

We're heading to a place in the Costa Del Sol called Nerja. A traditional Spanish village east of Malaga.

destinations

We're doing a week in the Lakes in the camper with the grandkids, really looking forward to it.

o' Loch Lomond! Nae exotic climes for us this year! Away this saturday for a week, then Costa del Newtonhill for a week.

Europe

We're doing another European motoring Hol' this year. Last year we went across to France using Eurotunnel which was OK. This year we're saving the drive down south by going on the Ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge. Heading towards Lake Lugano, Lake Garda, then possibly Venice.
