Ban Tractors, JCB's, Farm Vehicles & Other Congestion Causing Vehicles from the A90 at Peak Times

If you drive one of these on the A90 to or from Aberdeen at peak times when people are going to work or coming home, you are a menace & should stay off the road until traffic has eased.

You cause congestion with your slow speeds, cause frustration, long tailbacks and annoy people.

I really am getting pissed off with the inconsiderate farm employee's who want to take a 20mph, non taxed, non MOT'd and unsafe vehicle onto the A90.

Plan your journeys in advance & stay off the roads if your vehicle can not travel safely & legally at an acceptable speed, maintaining the flow of traffic!

Tractors

Arguments in empty rooms again Kev?
Eilz

They are a danger

They may very well have registration numbers, that doesn't mean to say they pay road tax, have MOT certificates or road fuel.

Farmers have a job to do, fine: Let them plan their days when their journey doesn't take them onto the A90 at rush hour.

And what about the fork lift JCB thing that's been travelling North this last couple of weeks? I have seen that bloke so many times I think he uses his slow moving vehicle as his daily means of transport.

This thread is not about "other vehicles/drivers on the A90 are not fully compliant with current legislation". It's about arrogant farm & industrial vehicles slowing down the flow of traffic on the A90 at peak times.

Live & let live? That's a laugh. The old boy that farms up at Cookney seems to think he owns the road by stopping traffic, parking his Land Rover in the middle of the road & then abandoning it to go move his cows from field to field. Fine, he has to stop traffic, but deserting a vehicle is a stupid thing to do when people using the road have no clue what's happening. Last time the old guy didnt even have the courtesy to apologise for holding me up. Oh I forgot, he's a farmer & they don't have to polite.

Slow traffic

I'm with you Sayheykid, we do live in a rural community, and in parts the A90 has replaced lanes the farm traffic previously used.
It is possible to meet considerate drivers, inconsiderate drivers. and damned bad drivers whatever roads you happen to be on, even within the village.
Tractors do have registration plates so can be used on the roads, too much of a generalisation to say they are all illegal. How many other vehicles/drivers on the A90 are not fully compliant with current legislation?
Live and let live, or report to the authoriites if you have good reason but not just because of delays.

I think we are forgetting

I think we are forgetting something here. We live in a rural farming area. Those people are just trying to do their jobs like everyone else. Unfortunatly, that somtimes takes them on to the A90. Believe me, I get frustrated at it too. But maybe we should direct our anger at those lunk-heads fro the council who have not done anything to help the infastructure, or decide to close three main roads at the same time to do road works. The farmers etc are trying to earn a living.

That as well Col

Yes Mate,

My wife was run into the kerb just last week & was given the middle finger by the offending driver.

I say keep the car insurance sky high for these young drivers. Keep them off the roads till they mature

Is annefran a tractor driver?

I think I made my point blatantly clear.

Slow moving tractors etc are a menace on the A90 at peak times.

They have no right on the road at all as far as I am concerned. They don't pay road tax, they run on red diesel & I would be surprised if any of the farmers in this area bother their butts to put their vehicles through an MOT

Look for example at the accident only a number of weeks ago where a farmers trailer fell apart on a road journey & killed someone!

STAY OFF THE ROADS!

just go with it...

I don't get what the issue is.

Sometimes traffic is slow...

Sometimes it's fast.

Generally, you can get your timings right and get through town easy if you leave before 7am...

There's bigger issues on the planet than a tractor that slows you down for a matter of seconds/minutes.

Get yourself lost in shmu fm!

sometimes I am what I want to be all the time...

Not Only That! - ROUNDABOUTS!

Something else that could be dealt with is the inconsiderate eejits, who blatantly ingore the rules of the road at junctions and roundabouts. The amount of times I have nearly been bashed in to in Newtonhill by those arrogant drivers who refuse to acknowledge that at "MINI ROUNDABOUTS" they "MUST GIVE WAY TO TRAFFIC FROM THE RIGHT".. and, when you have voiced your frusrtation at them, they still think they are in the right.....

Col

Bad journey?

Yes and one that's repeated too darned often Eileen & I am not the only one that's affected by these inconsiderate morons, farmers & labourers who take these vehicles onto a main road during peak times.

Be warned if you are one of these imbecils cos I am going to start taking registration numbers & making an official complaint to Grampian Police for undue care & attention.

Something needs to be done about these arrogant people who think they can trundle along the A90 at a snails pace when cars are moving at up to 70 mph

Slow Traffic

I totally agree with you about the frustrations delays can cause. Not sure how restrictions could be policed or even if legislation would be approved to ban the vehicles you refer to. Guess you had a bad journey? Eilz

Hear Hear

Totally agree.....
